What You Need to Apply DTF Transfers

Before you start, make sure you have:

• Heat press machine
• T-shirt (cotton, polyester, or blend)
• DTF transfer film
• Teflon sheet or parchment paper

Step 1: Preheat Your Heat Press

Set your heat press to the correct DTF press settings:

• Temperature: 300°F – 320°F
• Time: 10–15 seconds
• Pressure: Medium to firm

👉 These settings may vary slightly depending on the transfer and fabric.

Step 2: Pre-Press the T-Shirt

Before applying the transfer:

• Press the shirt for 3–5 seconds
• Remove moisture and wrinkles

This step ensures better adhesion and smoother results.

Step 3: Position the DTF Transfer

Place the DTF transfer on the t-shirt:

• Design facing up
• Align properly (center chest or desired area)
• Make sure it's flat and wrinkle-free

Step 4: Heat Press the Transfer

Close the heat press and apply:

• 300°F – 320°F
• 10–15 seconds
• Medium/firm pressure

This is the most important step for a successful DTF printing result.

Step 5: Peel the Film

After pressing:

• Let it cool slightly (cold peel or warm peel depending on film)
• Gently peel off the film

Step 6: Post Press (Very Important)

Place a Teflon sheet over the design and press again:

• 5–10 seconds
• Same temperature
